Very few vehicles can touch the Hummer when it comes to off-road superiority. Manufactured by General Motors, the Hummer has some difficulty falling into a specific category. Many deem it to be a truck instead of a regular SUV. Initially manufactured and marketed by AM General Corporation, Hummer was fully acquired by General Motors in 2006. The Hummer is a vehicle that suits an extraordinary personality and lifestyle. It continues to reign supreme in extreme travel conditions and is consistent in its capabilities and qualities of durability, innovation and technology.

Major Hummer Milestones:

1990 – Two matching Hum-Vees were driven from London, passing through the rough roads of central Soviet Union, until they reached China. The journey was covered by the ESPN channel.

1991 – The HMMWV contributed in government efforts by lending its services to Operation: Desert Storm.

2006 – Hummer made a commitment to offer bio fuel powertrains across its entire lineup, the first automotive brand to do so.

Interesting Hummer Fact:

Known for having heavy-duty capabilities, many privately owned Hummers have been offered by their owners to be used for aid in large disaster situations. A joint effort between The Hummer Club, INC. and the American Red Cross gave birth to an organization called Hummer Owners Prepared for Emergencies (HOPE). Members are trained to assist victims in various emergency situations.
